TAJ E-NEWS 2015-8-23

Rami Daniel spent a Shabbat with us
and as always imparted great truths
about our Jewish Messiah, Yeshua.
We all left closer to our Master.

Rami is a great tour guide, who is an Israeli and a Messianic believer.

Please visit his website for a full overview of his teaching.
His wife, Gabriela, is an accomplished artist and musician (harpist).
They have a home overlooking the Kinnerret (the Sea of Galilee).

Thank you Kevin and Renee Brown for being gracious hosts.

As you know, our Rebbetzin, Hilary, is an accomplished artist
who paints on glass with beautiful and powerful Jewish images.
This week Hilary received a request from the Presbyterian church to use one of her images for a magazine and they offered to pay for it.
There is a major boycott of Israeli products, called the BDS (Boycott, Divest, Sanction) movement.
Most of the Presbyterian churches have not joined, but the PCUSA, which has been taking over much of the Presbyterian church has joined, and in fact, voted in favor of the boycott.

I would like to share Hilary's response to the magazine.....I am
very proud of Hilary's letter which I would like to share with you all:

The title of the painting is "Ruth & Naomi" you can see it on her website: www.baruchdesigns.com

Dear Laura,

Thank you for attaching the article concerning the BDS and PCUSA.

I  am going to have to decline the request for the use of the image of my painting “Ruth & Naomi” for the cover of Horizon’s magazine. Thank you for selecting my work I was honored.

I am writing to tell you that I can not in good conscience have my art work associated with any organization that endorses the BDS movement. I am strongly against it and very vocal about it on Facebook and elsewhere.

BDS is misguided and serves to not only hurt and undermine the Israeli economy but the Palestinians as well. As you know Soda Stream International was pressured by BDS to close it’s factory in Lod in Judea and Samaria and hundreds of Israelis and Palestinians lost their jobs. The Palestinians can not find jobs in Gaza that are comparable to the pay and benefits that they received from Soda Stream due to the corruption of Hamas.

if BDS really cared about the fate of the Palestinians they would not have shut down this facility to further their own agenda.

The so called “West Bank” is not occupied territory, it is the Biblical Judea and Samaria, the heartland of Israel that should have been annexed after the 1967 war when it was attacked. The territory was offered to Jordan and Syria in exchange for peace but it was rejected by both so it remains a rightful part of Israel.

The settlements are not an obstacle to peace, one can not “occupy” ones own land.

They are wonderful, thriving, beautiful neighborhoods that just want to live in peace with their Arab neighbors. The Security fence and Israeli roads that were built have dramatically decreased the number of suicide bombers. They were built for a reason, to protect and stop the killing of innocent civilians.

The real obstacle to peace is Hamas, an organization that steals international aid to further violence, dig terror tunnels, launch missiles from schools and hospitals while the people of Gaza suffer.  Israel pulled completely out of Gaza over 10 years ago, uprooting hundreds of Israelis from their homes and farms leaving state of the art greenhouses to help the economy of the  people in Gaza, but those green houses were quickly dismantled by Hamas and the economy and the people continue to suffer.

The only thing Israel received in return for leaving Gaza is 1000’s of rockets launched at it’s civilians, and these attacks continue to this day.

So if PCUSA does not want to support any country or business that furthers violence it needs to focus on freeing Gaza from Hamas, BDS Iran, Syria, China, and all of the countries that are truly committing genocide, human rights violations and violence.

Thank you for your concideration of my work.

Best Regards,
Hilary Sylvester
