TAJ E-NEWS 2015-7-25

This Shabbat was Tisha B'Av,
but due to the solemnity of this day, the Jewish people
observe it starting Saturday evening.  Shabbat takes precedence.

What tragedies have occurred on this date that demands
a collective mourning:

1)  Destruction of both the first and second Temple in Jerusalem.

2)  the date that the Jewish spies returned from surveying the Promised Land and returned
with a negative report.  The Land is full of giants.

3)  Betar, the fortress headquarters of Simon bar Kochba, fell to the Romans in 135 C.E

4)  Hadrian, the Roman [emperor] and ruler of Jerusalem, in 136 C.E., established a heathen temple [in Jerusalem]

and rebuilt Jerusalem as a pagan city.

5)  The Edict of Expulsion of the Jews from England was signed by King Edward I in 1290.

6)  Ferdinand and Isabella decreed this to be the official date of the expulsion of the Jews from Spain in 1492.

7)  WWI began

8)  Deportation from the Warsaw Ghetto to Auschwitz began.

For those who believe that the Iranian Nuclear Deal
is wrong, let us meet at
11000 Wilshire Blvd (the Federal Building).
We can stand against it.
This deal adversely affects Israel.

Between 2-4 pm Sunday, July 26th.
