On February 24, 1978, Temple Aviv Judea became incorporated as
a Messianic Congregation in California. It made us one of the
very first messianic congregations, not just in California, but
in the United States and abroad. It was founded by Michael A.
Davis, M.Div from Talbot University.
Due to the love and dedication Mike and his parents, Bill and
Beverly Davis, the congregation flourished.
In August 2004, Michael Davis went home to Yeshua. Corey Sylvester,
cantor and elder of TAJ for 25 years was called to carry forth
this ministry. The congregation became affiliated with Light of
Messiah Ministries International based in Toronto, Canada. He
found that we shared their Vision and Values and their love for
the Lost Sheep of Israel. Rabbi Don Meecha licensed and ordained
Corey Sylvester on September 10, 2005.
For three years we have been healing and growing in Yorba Linda
by a loving congregation [ICF]. Our focus at TAJ has been on the
congregation itself. We have become a microcosm of what the true
eklesia should be; filled with Jewish born members and a diversity
of the nations in order to become "one new man". We
have been actively reaching out to our persecuted brothers and
sisters in Arad, Israel and to the Arab Christians who need to
see Messianics reach out to them in love.
After three years, HaShem has opened doors for us and has brought
us to Orange, CA to move into a brand new facility in an Industrial
Park. We will be sharing the facilities with Orange Coast Christian
Church [OCCC]. For the first time, we are worshiping on Shabbat
at 10 am! OCCC will be worshiping on Sunday.
Temple Aviv Judea will be incorporating Davidic Dance worship
into the service. We have a talented worship song leader. We have
nursery facilities as well as Children Torah classes; Youth group,
and Wednesday Bible Studies on the second and fourth Wednesday
evenings at 7:30 pm at the same location. We, also love to "shmooze"
[fellowship] after shabbat services where we will have a lunch
"oneg" [Random Blessing].
Come and Join us....
